Empower Seniors to Age with Dignity and Grace

Mdm Saemah is the main caregiver for her husband, whose mobility has been affected since suffering a stroke 12 years ago. Assisting him in daily activities, from meal preparation to showering, is physically and emotionally demanding for her.

In spite of this, Mdm Saemah maintains a positive spirit. The one place that she looks forward to going to is our Senior Activity Centre. Being in a lively environment with never-ending activities uplifts her mood and gives her strength for the day.

Expressing her joy, she says, “Whenever I come here, I feel so happy and there is no stress at all.”

Her latest endeavour – paper quilling art. She joins our weekly programme, learning to transform strips of colourful paper into beautiful art pieces. Each time she completes a piece, she feels a great sense of achievement. Furthermore, she feels a sense of contribution to be able to present her artwork to BCARE to raise funds.

As individuals age, they may experience declining health, reduced social support and a loss of meaning. Your giving will greatly encourage them and support our work in caring for seniors. We run programmes at our BCARE Senior Activity Centre as well as our other centres that offer activities to improve the physical, social and emotional health of seniors.
