Give Luke A Chance To Fight Leukaemia

In the heart of Calatagan, Batangas, under the shadow of hardship and the bright Philippine sun, our little family has been facing a storm that has tested our strength, hope, and the very fibers of our love. I am Merlyn Anit, a mother first and foremost, and recently, a warrior in a battle I never imagined we would have to fight.

Before our lives took this unexpected turn, I worked as an accounting staff member in bustling Manila, a job that, while demanding, provided for our modest but happy life in Poblacion IV. My partner, the steadfast pillar of our small family, works as an admin aide in a government hospital, a role that has become our beacon of hope in these trying times.
Our son, Luke Xavier, is the heart of our home. At three years old, he embodies the joy and innocence of childhood. Luke has always been a quiet, healthy child, with kindness and gentility that belies his young age. Our life was simple, our happiness complete in our togetherness and in the small joys of daily living.

However, in August 2023, our world was turned upside down. Luke was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. This devastating news came after a series of health scares that we initially thought were fleeting. Luke's journey with illness began subtly, with recurring fevers that we mistook for common childhood ailments. He was even diagnosed with dengue multiple times, but each time, he seemed to recover, leaving us relieved but none the wiser to the storm brewing within him.
It wasn't until alarming bruises began to appear on his little body that our concerns deepened, driving us to seek further medical advice. The diagnosis came after a visit to Calatagan Medicare Hospital and a subsequent referral to a Pedia Hematologist, Dra. Mayie Salvador. The confirmation of Luke's leukemia felt like the ground was ripped from under us. Suddenly, our everyday worries paled in comparison to the fight for our son's life.

With chemotherapy treatments scheduled three times a week, the financial toll is beyond what our family can bear. In choosing to prioritize Luke's care, I resigned from my job, a decision that, while necessary, has left us in a precarious financial situation. Now, we rely solely on the income of Luke's father, which stretches thin against the enormity of medical expenses.
This is why I reach out to you today. In the face of this relentless storm, your support can be the shelter that protects us. Every donation, no matter the size, brings us closer to securing the treatment Luke needs to fight this battle. It's not just funds you're giving; it's hope, strength, and a chance for our little boy to live the life he deserves.

We understand the weight of the request we lay before you, but in the heart of hardship, we've found the courage to ask for help. To those who choose to stand with us, please know that your generosity illuminates our darkest days and guides us towards a future where our son can once again embrace life with the vigor and joy he so deserves.

Thank you, from the bottom of our hearts, for considering our plea. Your support means the world to us, to Luke, and to the hopeful journey ahead.

All funds raised will be managed by Give.asia and pay to the clinic directly.
