Help Mckyle Victoria With Open Heart Surgery

My son, Mckyle, is just 13 years old, and he has already faced more battles than many of us will ever know. When Mckyle was 6, our world turned upside down. He was diagnosed with Valvular Heart Disease, specifically Mitral Regurgitation (MR), which had become severe due to Vegetation and previous Infective Endocarditis. It’s a condition that has been slowly draining the life out of my son, but despite all the challenges, Mckyle has always been a fighter. He’s been brave, far braver than any child should ever need to be.

At the time of his diagnosis, the doctors told us that surgery was the only way to truly help him. But Mckyle was so young then, and the thought of our little boy going through such a major operation was terrifying. We were also not in a position financially to afford such a costly procedure. So, we did what we could—we followed the doctors’ advice to manage his condition with medications. For years, these medicines have kept his heart functioning, but they were never a cure, just a temporary relief.
Now, seven years later, that relief is no longer enough. Just this past July, during Mckyle’s regular check-up, we received the news we had always dreaded. The doctors told us that the surgery we had hoped to avoid all those years ago is now unavoidable. Mckyle’s heart has become too weak, and his condition is worsening rapidly. Without the surgery, my son’s life is at serious risk.

We are a small family of four. Mckyle has a younger sister who is just 7 years old, and she adores her big brother. My husband and I have always tried our best to provide for our children, to give them the love and care they deserve. But the truth is, we’ve been struggling. I work as a secretary and assistant in an eye clinic here in Sta. Barbara, Baliuag, Bulacan. It’s a decent job, but it doesn’t pay enough to cover the costs of a major heart surgery. My husband, though he’s a hardworking man, doesn’t have a stable income. He sometimes finds work as an on-call signage installer, but those jobs are few and far between. We live day by day, trying to make ends meet, but saving for something as enormous as heart surgery has been beyond our reach.
The cost of Mckyle’s surgery is overwhelming. It’s an amount that we simply cannot afford on our own, no matter how hard we try. We’ve exhausted all our savings and borrowed what we could, but it’s still not enough. I can’t begin to describe the pain and fear that grips my heart every day. As a mother, there’s nothing worse than knowing that your child’s life is in danger and that you don’t have the means to save him. Mckyle deserves a chance at life, a chance to grow up and experience all the things that any other 13-year-old should.

Mckyle is a bright, kind-hearted boy who dreams of becoming an engineer one day. Despite his illness, he’s never lost his love for learning, and he’s always been so full of life and curiosity. But now, that life is slipping away, and I am desperate to do everything in my power to save him. This surgery is our only hope. It’s the only way to give Mckyle the future he deserves, the future he’s fought so hard to have.
But we can’t do this alone. We need your help. As a mother, I am pleading with you—please, help us save our son. Any amount, no matter how small, will bring us one step closer to giving Mckyle the life-saving surgery he needs. We have reached out to every possible avenue, but the financial burden is simply too great for us to bear on our own. Your generosity could be the difference between life and death for Mckyle.

Please, help us in this time of desperate need. We are humbly asking for your support to make this surgery possible, to give our son the chance to live, to grow, and to chase his dreams. We believe in the kindness of others, and we believe that with your help, we can make this miracle happen. From the bottom of our hearts, we thank you for any support you can provide.

All funds raised will be managed by Give.Asia and pay directly to the hospital.
