Help Terry by Giving him another chance in life 🐾

Terry was given up by his ex-owner Ms Letchumi as she was unable to provide care for him due to his medical condition. Terry was not microchipped nor licenced.

I took over Terry’s case and brought him to Advanced Vet followed by Gentle Oak which referred me to Beecroft Animal Specialist and Emergency Hospital.

🐾 Terry suffers from Perineal Hernia, a result from weakening or complete failure of the muscular diaphragm of the pelvis. Normally, the pelvic diaphragm allows for rectal support and keeps the abdominal contents from encroaching on the rectum. Pets with perineal hernias will demonstrate a swelling adjacent to the rectum on one or both sides coupled with signs of constipation, difficulty defacating, lethargy, difficulty urinating, and altered tail carriage and excessive straining may cause the urinary bladder to retroflex (flip over backwards into the pelvic canal) leading to urinary obstruction and potentially loss of blood supply to the bladder. Entrapment of a loop of intestine into the hernia may cause significant pain and loss of the blood supply.

🏠 Currently Terry is being fostered and is also facing alot of difficulties to get rehomed due to his current condition. U have to massage the bump near his anus to assist him with his pooping everyday and this requires alot of dedication and love indeed.

Terry is also suspected to have heart disease.

Checks showed that Terry has stage B1 MMVD that does not require any medication for now. The surgery for hernia repair is estimated around $6k. We would like to seek your kindness to give Terry a second chance in life.
