Financial empowerment is key to a secure future. At Aidha, we are passionate about changing the lives of migrant domestic workers and other low-income women.

More than 286,300 migrant domestic workers who live in Singapore have made the difficult decision to leave behind children and family in hope of creating a better future. While their remittances provide much needed financial support to their families, most women return home with little or no savings at the end of their contracts, facing economic hardships and an uncertain future despite their years of hard work and sacrifice. Our education programmes aim to break this cycle of poverty. Aidha provides financial literacy programmes such as money management, computer literacy, leadership and entrepreneurial skills to migrant domestic workers and lower-income women to help them create a financially secure future for themselves and their families.

Our programmes work. Our impact data shows that monthly savings increase by nearly 80% amongst alumni, a significant achievement that helps them to break out of the cycle of poverty for the first time. They also double the number of productive assets they own and business ownership increases from 6% to over 40% amongst our alumni. With a multiplier effect of 9 lives touched for every student at Aidha, we have already impacted over 60,000 women, family and community members in some of the poorest countries in Asia.
