Perhaps what is most outstanding about the Singapore Red Cross is its humanitarian efforts in the region with regards to national disasters. Most recently, the Singapore Red Cross worked with the Singapore Armed Forces to provide relief aid to those affected by the ongoing tensions in Malawi, sending through humanitarian supplies worth S$100,000. These supplies included medical supplies, food, tents, blankets, and water filtration devices. It is their large-scale mobilisation of masses of people for their projects that is extremely laudable. Who can forget the inspiring images of volunteers in Aceh putting smiles on kids' faces in tsunami-wrecked areas in 2004, when the Boxing Day Tsunami wrecked the region? It was the Singapore Red Cross which helped put these people together to help the ravaged ride through the difficult times, and it was your kind soul which helped them tide over their difficult times.
This is why you should approach the Singapore Red Cross if you would like to do your part for the vulnerable. Have old clothes to donate or some money to donate to the poor and less fortunate? Come help the Singapore Red Cross do their part to save others in the region.
