Meet Project We Forgot.

Hello! My name is Melissa, and I am Founder of Project We Forgot, a social network for caregivers to persons with dementia. We serve our community by providing knowledge, resources and peer support for dementia care.

Project We Forgot was inspired not only by a personal journey, but also by the many families we have spoken to, who face the growing pains in the long journey of caring. Dementia does not only affect the person with the condition, it impacts the entire family. Family caregivers are sometimes referred to as 'the invisible patients’ and they often lack knowledge on self-care and caring, the accessibility to products and services and they go through loneliness and isolation in the long journey of caring.

Dementia rates are expected to rise over the next 10 years, and more young people will get involved in care for their parents and grandparents. We want to make sure that caregivers are better equipped for this task than we were, and that we can better manage care and outcomes for persons with dementia.

We work with local and global stakeholders in our outreach efforts and are currently part of the Singtel Future Makers programme and the Modern Aging programme by ACCESS Health International and NUS Enterprise.

Thank you for joining us in our adventure as we build this for you and with you! My team and I are constantly humbled by the support we get. Please feel free to reach out to us should you have any ideas or feedback in helping us push this better together!

Project joined the community since September 21, 2017.
