HCA Hospice Care (HCA) is a registered charity in Singapore providing comfort and support to patients with life-limiting illnesses, regardless of age, religion, ethnicity, nationality and financial status.
Their focus lies in home hospice care, where dedicated multidisciplinary teams, comprising doctors, nurses, social workers, counselors and trained volunteers, visit patients and their families in their own homes. This service is provided free of charge.
More than 60,000 patients have benefited from HCA Hospice Care’s services since its establishment in 1989. They are the largest home hospice provider in Singapore, and their specialized teams are on the call round-the-clock, paying about 34,000 home visits a year and serving an average of 3,500 patients annually. They have about 800 patients under their care at any point of time.
Braving the hot & humid condition in Singapore, Ben Swee will run the full marathon 42km in a Batman costume at the Standard Chartered Singapore Marathon 2017 to raise funds for HCA Hospice Care as well as to inspire other participants to keep going & never give up during the race despite the difficulties faced during the journey. This challenge pales in comparison to the journey the patients of HCA Hospice Care take. Let us do what we can, no matter how small a task, to help HCA Hospice Care reach its goals to bring comfort and support to its patients & their families.
