Once again this year, LPC is participating in the Hong Kong 24 Hour Race. Both a girls and a boys team will run the endurance relay located on the iconic Victoria Peak. The 24 Hour Race aims to fundraise to combat modern-day slavery, which remains a prevalent global problems with 35 million slaves worldwide. This year, the race's funds will go towards two charities: The Exodus Road and Right4Children. The Exodus Road operates in Southeast Asia and India, hosting rescue missions to free victims of human trafficking. These individuals will then be housed in aftercare shelters whilst The Exodus Road will also aid in the prosecution of human traffickers. Right4Children provides education and vocational training for disadvantaged children, including human trafficking victims, in Nepal. This is an important cause as over 28% of slavery victims are under the age of 18 and Right4Children provides a new future for such individuals. LPC is privileged to continue to be involved in the largest student-led event in Asia, especially one with such a worthy cause. Our two teams of eight runners will fundraise towards a collective goal and we will hopefully be ready to accept the challenge on 19th and 20th of November!
Our runners this year are:
Alis Jones, Meeri Triin Tomso, Virág Orbán, Johanne Kjærsgaard, Arilyne Wong, Laure Blanchez, Josefine Klovning and Briar Leith
William Stainier, Leonardo Garcia Cortessi, Kenyi Peter, Kento Sakata, Abubakarr Konneh, Nicolas Thill, Martinius Enzell Tangen and Abidin Salec
Besides GIVE, we have received HKD 10,250.00 from other sources.
