Today, there are over 35 million victims of slavery worldwide. Despite being illegal, modern slavery continues to exist in forms such as human trafficking, forced and bonded labour, sex trade, debt bondage, and domestic servitude. Countless men, women and children are vulnerable to exploitation, a gross violation of human rights, denying victims of their freedom and dignity.
The 24 Hour Race (Running to Stop Traffik) is a movement striving to advocate freedom in a world of ridden with slavery. This year, 4 teams of 8 runners from Singapore International School are participating in the race, aiming to raise funds and awareness to support anti-slavery organisations. The members of our team are:
- Gordon Tan
- Clarence Mok
- Luke Seow
- Nicole Ng
- Natasha Lim
- Peter Lee
- Cheryl Li
- Foo Cheng
